MERRILL DAVIS

Merrill Davis, comedian, actress, and host of talk show, Merrillwood was born in Miami Beach, Florida (very recently!) as the middle child of three. She is a Southern-Baptist Jew, her father is a brain surgeon, she has a chemical imbalance, and she is excellent at creating awkward situations with people she just met.

In 2001, she earned her B.F.A at the California Institute of the Arts in Acting. Shortly after graduation, while acting in plays locally and auditioning for t.v. and film roles, she began performing stand-up comedy because a friend insisted she do so (and she had a dream she was doing stand-up at a sold out show at The Apollo). True story.

In the last few years, she has opened for professional comics, showcased for the Montreal Comedy Festival, and performed last year at Gotham Comedy Club in New York. Merrill continues to do stand-up all over L.A. at
The Comedy Store, The Improv, and other local venues. She continues to act, as well, and just shot a role in the comedy feature film, Jelly, starring Natasha Lyonne.

She also very recently shot a web commercial with
Ed McMahon and Tom Green. She is busy creating a new show based on "Merrillwood" so watch out for that!
